So for the first time, I got 1st in fleet arena, was so happy and then I got 3rd place prizes... Wth? Can I please get some clarity on this?

You got bumped to third before your payout hour hit. Or you claimed first after your payout hour hit.

But I checked back and I was still placed 1st, it's sad to see that my refreshes were wasted

Nope, I should've got it, I took screenshots after I got the rewards that I got, but none beforehand

With loading times and the slight delay on the end there is always a chance the clocks don't line up. Next time don't wait for the last second
