Magnaguard not getting speed/offense bonus?

I'm noticing he never gets an actual buff, just the words 'speed' appear over his head for a moment and he doesn't seem to get any faster, nor do I see any other words appear over his head, just speed over and over. Looks like he's hitting for the same damage too. I take it there are no invisible buffs and this is a bug.

Anyone else find their magna isn't doing anything? I even upgraded his passive to seeing it was a glitch like the lower powering upgrade, no dice tho
