Special damage increases for toons doing only physical damage

Darth Vader has a g12 piece with adds significantly to his tactics score, which increases special damage.... But he only does physical damage. Will this piece increase his damage at all or is it just a waste (except for the resistance increases that goes along with it)? Thanks.

No special damage and physical damage are 2 separate things and do not affect each other.

It will bump up his ship power a little bit. Not a lot. But some.

Yea, there are ALOT of toons with that problem.

Tactics at least will bump his resistance to special dmg a bit.

Its baffling when ig86 has alot of spexial damage and potency gear which essentially does nothing for him
