Should there be a real-time "challenge" pvp mode?

That's what this game is honestly missing most.
Why is it I can challenge my SO to a game of Yahtzee, or cribbage and play her directly but can't do the same with this game?
Not even asking for rewards or anything. Just to be able to interact with another person directly and not by proxy.
This would make the game 100x more interesting. Considering the thousands of dollars I've spent on it over the past couple years, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask why this doesn't exist yet.
