They haven't figured it out yet...there were always a bunch of place holders, but the other ones ended up getting redesigned anyway. For example, there was a similar table in front of the Hutt in the back for where ships were going to go. But when they finally came out with ships, they redesigned the cantina so you go into a new room.
In the guild rom, the main table used to have two other holograms besides raids--one that looked like a system of planets and one that looked like some vehicle with little triangles around it. When guild events came out, they redesigned that table to just have two things.
So I wouldn't be surprised if that box endd up going away or becoming something else someday.
