More/less than 5 characters in PVP

I was wondering if this was ever considered or discussed by the devs, or what people's thoughts on it were. Imagine having 7,8 or even 10 characters (on one side) in a battle. Or vice versa, 2 or 3 or even 1 v 1 like the gamechangers sometimes show us. It might be fun, or at least provide new ways to think of teams and all.
