I was slightly off with my calculations and mechanics, but slightly. As you can see in this video:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atE0jQ5sV1Q&feature=youtu.be&t=507
How so? That video literally shows it working how we've been saying it did. If green, the shown secondary upgrades, then the others are added. Never that secondaries are upgraded at the same time that new ones are revealed. Mods pre 2.0 are no stronger than the post 2.0 ones.

Also bear in mind the old greens would never be your best mods at the end of the day, because you only ever got 1 upgrade on that speed. That was nice, but purples and golds were the source of the strongest, while blues were the most consistently decent speed secondaries.

Prior to update - Green Mods with Speed:
-Guaranteed to be 10 speed and unlock 3 stats by lvl 12
-with slicing you have a 3x 25% chance to upgrade a secondary stat.
Summary: 1 guaranteed upgrade to speed and 3x random upgrades to secondary stats with slicing.

Post Update - Green Mods with Speed:
-No Guarantee to hit speed just 1 25% chance to buff a secondary stat
-with slicing you have a 3x 25% chance to upgrade a secondary stat.
Summary: 0 guaranteed upgrades to speed and 4x random upgrades to secondary stats with slicing.

Green, Blue, Purple Mods released before this update have a MUCH HIGHER CHANCE at having more speed, therefore new mods are all weaker compared to the existing mods already farmed in the game.

Yes in theory now all mods can reach the same level with slicing, but this just further gives more advantage to older mods because now the old green mod isn't limited to 10 speed it can be upgraded to gold and have +25 speed if you get lucky. Your already guaranteed the buff to speed since it was green and you already upgraded it in the old system. In a way this makes old green and blue BETTER THAN GOLD because gold was always 25% random but green and blue were a much higher chance to hit speed, just they were limited to 10 or 15 speed, but they are not limited to 10 or 15 anymore since now u can slice them and make them gold and speed may even go to +25 since it is already +10 or +15

Having a guaranteed 10 speed with 3 additional 25% chances to buff speed again is NOT THE SAME AS just 4 25% chances at upgrading speed. Old mods are WAY better than new ones. This is black and white.

    Actually

    Green mod with speed secondary
    Before update:
    1x100% chance to upgrade speed
    (No slicing pre update)
    Post update:
    4x25% chance to upgrade speed
    (Slicing but different leveling)

Exactly. pre update green with speed was guaranteed to hit but you were limited to ~10 speed, no more. Mod was capped at 10 speed.

Now after the update that guaranteed speed upgraded green mod can be upgraded 3 more times beyond the capped ~10 speed all the way to gold and each time it can hit speed again - although only 25% chance.

This update makes legacy mods more likely to have more speed secondary than new mods because they were guaranteed to hit speed, AND after the slicing update green mods with ~10 speed are no longer capped at ~10 speed.

Basically old mods were guaranteed to upgrade speed, but limited. Limited to~10 was the drawback of going with a green, but now that limit has been removed so you get the guaranteed buff to speed under the legacy system and you get 4 more buffs to a secondary stat removing the limit of 10 speed via slicing.

If you don't see it or understand it then that's on you. I'm not complaining, just stating facts.

I get your point. However, back on topic, how are mods nerfed? Sure, old mods are better than new mods now, but mods were made better.(Except 4* and lower, but really...)
Also, if you think tier d should be better than tier a, then go ahead.

Yeah, I think this is my biggest issue with the folks who are mad about mods. Greens shouldn't be better than golds in theory, but even in practice: Greens WEREN'T better than golds. They were just more plentiful and faster to get. A 10 speed mod is fine and dandy, I'm not going to complain about having more--but we all know that what you really wanted were mods that got three or even four (or dream of five!) bumps to speed, and you couldn't do that with greens before. They had a low ceiling that was easy to hit and that gave a false sense of completion.

But if you wanted to have the best mods, you skipped out on greens in favor of golds and hoped for the best luck.
    Ceterum censeo Patientia esse meliat.
