Experience after reaching the player level cap.

So I just recently reached level 70
What happens to player experience once you reach the level cap?
Is it stored until they increase the cap, or is it just wasted?

    Yep - disappears into the deep, dark hole that Vader threw the Emperor down - gone forever. :(

    It's wasted. I still do my dailies though so that I can get the crystals-training droids-credits.
