Count Dooku Health Steal, Counterattacks and Missing

I was playing in Galactic War the other day, going up against a team with Dooku. He consistently counter attacked, as expected, but when my characters had foresight, he missed them and still regained health. Not protection, but health. And no, Nihilus wasn't the leader. Is this supposed to happen?

Furthermore, if an attack misses, are extra attacks considered independent? Same with counters? Thanks!

I'm sorry I really can't. It was a random team on Galactic War. I remember noticing it when he was the last one. If I come across it again, I will try to write down who all was on the team. However, I seem to recall him missing my characters outright, no foresight, and seeing the health regen as well.
