Correct me if I'm wrong, but GG was originally introduced into the game as a celebration character of sorts. He was released and put into the shard store as it opened so you had something to do with all those extra shards you received. Looking ahead to next week, the week of the 3 year anniversary, how fitting of a gift to the players(at least the thousands asking for it) for them to Rework him as introduce his ship as a legendary? For me, at least this would erase some of the bad feelings towards the devs from Revan/Clone Wars "celebration", and general hate of the marquees. And, it would also be right after the next Mace Windu fleet mastery event, letting some of the newer players possibly get his ship to 7*.
Or they could just give us our 3 Chewbacca shards and run...
