Ship Battles: 5-E Normal [SO FRUSTRATING]

Hello people! Hope you can give me a hand with this.

So, Ship Battles 5-E effing Normal. Can't win it by any chance, and I would really like to know why.

I've been playing with a 6* Chimaera (G12 Thrawn).

First three ships:

TIEAX1 (Vader G12),
Biggs X-Wing (G12) and
Empire TIE Fighter (Pilot G12)

Usually using as reinforcement (in this order):

Slave I (Boba G12)
Ghost (Hera G9; Zeb G8; Kanan G8)
TIE Silencer (KUM G10)

All my ships are 7*.

I leave aside:

7* Phantom (Sabine G8 2*; Ezra G11; Chopper G9)
7* Wedge's X-Wing (G10)
7* Jedi Consul Trash-Can (G9)
6* F.O. TIE Fighter (Pilot G8)

What can I do? I've been stuck in 5-E for like 2 months. I need to know what am I doing wrong. Maybe it's the order i'm sending the ships in. Don't know.

The AI tends to target the weakest ship right off the bat (Avoiding the tie fighter's evasion) so be ready for that. Now most of your pilots aren't super well geared and ship battles stage 5 is pretty far towards the end-game of PvE. You only have 4 g12 pilots, and a couple g11, some g10 and then it drops off really heavily after that. Honestly the best suggestion I have for you is to work on your pilots more so that the mission becomes easier.

You will want to start with a tankier ship than Vader's TIE advanced because of how the AI targets ships. Need to pick 2 tanky ships and imperial tie fighter or your second attacker will simply get destroyed out the gate.

How I did it;
G11 Tarkin, no zeta, all ship abilities bar basic maxed
Three geos- all g11, ship abilities maxed
Phantom 2, crew ~9-11, don't think I had Ezra zeta at the time, but reinforcement maxed
Plo Koon- g6, reinfoeent maxed
