A different type of Journey.

I was thinking about Chewbacca (as one is wont to do) and thought about how it'd be possible to do a Journey with certain characters. Not to unlock them, as with Luke, Rey, and Revan, but as a reward for having them. Sort of like a cross between an Assault Battle and a Hero's Journey in that each stage requires specific characters, but you don't have to do the stages linearly--as in, you can theoretically do the hard version of an Assault Battle even if you couldn't finish the easy version.

Taking Chewbacca as the basis for the model, you could have a stage where you use Clone Wars Chewbacca, Clone Trooper, and Grandmaster Yoda to defend Kashyyyk. Vandor Chewbacca and Young Han escape from that mud planet. Chewbacca Prime, Raid Han, Baby Luke, and Old Ben escape Tatooine. Veteran Chewbacca and Veteran Han in Force Awakens scenes. Rewards could be shards of characters from the appropriate movie the stage takes place in, gear, mods, etc.

Other characters you could pretty easily do this with:
Han
C-3P0 (You'd use the same C-3P0, obviously, but each stage would need characters from different movies)
R2-D2 (Same)
Anakin/Darth Vader
Palpatine/Sidious
Leia
Obi-Wan, if you also created a Padawan Obi-Wan.

Many of these could work ships into it, too, as separate stages. We're all pretty sure an Original Trilogy Millennium Falcon is coming, which would probably use Han and Chewbacca as pilots, meaning you could do a space battle with the Falcon against Vader's TIE Advance and a couple TIE wingmen set against a Death Star background. Maybe allow Wedge and--if one ever gets made--a Red-5 Luke to make it so it's not either too easy or too hard. (One ship against three would mean either you one-shot each one, or you stand no chance--allowing more ships makes the event more scalable with difficulty)
