Hello, I just had a small question about the game and the future of the game. Are there any long term goals in developing a second installment to the series, possibly changing some core mechanics? or to continually expand and update the current title?

They would likely lose the entire base if they moved onto a second installment. Many people are heavily invested and would not do that again.

From what they have told us, they will just keep adding to a long term plan that they already have for several years out.
