How do I help the younglings

I recently discovered the new player section and wanted to help by lending my ally code. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to garuntee the newbs get the character they want? I'm probably asking a stupid question but it's all in the name of helping new players progress.

I don't remember the exact way this works, but its something like the last character you used as a leader in a LS/DS battle is available to allies.

The ally offered is whoever you used as a leader last on that table. So if you most recently used CLS lead on the light side table and Kylo Unmasked on dark, that's who they'll see when they go to choose an ally from you.
