grand arena championship gp characters

in my group there are the 8 player, they have a gp of characters:

3.142m
3.126m
3.042m
3.038m
2.923m
2.881m (jedibaer)
2.862m
2.830m

difference 312.000 gp between the number one and number eight. more than 10%

i know, everybody can beat everybody, but the galactic power is an indicador for gear-level, zetas, golden mods, ...

for me the good old "grand arena" had a better mix of the galactic power average...

Grand Arena matchmaking isn't based on GP any longer (which pretty much everyone agreed wasn't really a good indicator for matching up in GA when many characters that add GP aren't even usable in GA due to their low gearing).

this makes sense, of course. but would be interesting to know, what "key" they use.

i just checked the datas, i have

70 zetas vs 77 zetas :-((
golden mods 151 vs 80 :-))
gear 12 i have a little advantage, but gear12+11 he is better.
speed mods i have an advantage.

so it will be interesting!

Saying it's not based on GP anymore is inaccurate.

It is less based on GP, to discourage sandbagging and punish fluff less. The details and factors are deliberately vague because if we knew exactly how the matchmaking algorithm worked, it would be prone to abuse no matter how it worked.

Actually we know 2 in our guild they have Division 3 enemies in the Division 4 GA .. matchmaking = well done..

i have 6 zetas more, but he has 62 12* characters more!
and 210 more mods with 10+ speed
