This disaster could have been avoided

Other legendary events don’t allow you to replay the event once you have the toon unlocked! If these events followed the same pattern, people with an unlocked Malak shouldn’t be able to play the event. Then a new Mythic type event should have been created to give other types of rewards to those that had him unlocked, like Kryotechs! Seems taking the shortcut to try and let people replay the same event was just too much for them to handle!

You're thinking about this wrong. The legendary events that are so well done should be playable more than once. Especially as an end game player the next time will be easier and you can appreciate the design. If this was the case with Legendary events already, this fiasco wouldn't exist.

I think your thinking about this all wrong. The event came back in the past as being replayable and didnt award shards. It used to work fine.

They changed something and broke the event recently. then didnt catch it in testing so it went live causing a mess. They tried to clean up the mess but they messed up the fix.

Then they released the event again still in a broken state.

Everything was working fine to begin with on the first and second time.

Also this isn't a legendary event as you all are stating. This is an epic confrontation.

Design aside.... I would rather not deal with the game being force restarted, events being pulled, character rollbacks, and massive delays to timetables continually.

Remove the replay, add event part 2 with mods, shards, other rewards as has been the case with legendary and other characters in the past.
