Can't use Google rewards to buy crystals

I normally use my Google rewards to buy crystals, it's not letting me anymore. Any known bugs?

Google points to play store credits works.... but remember a $9.99 crystal pack has tax and having $10 play cash isnt enough to cover tax... but is more than $9.99 so it doesnt trigger needing a card to cover the additional tax cost

I'd guess thats more of an issue in the USA, a lot of countries include tax in the price
