I know there was a post or a Dev update about it somewhere, but I can't find it. The GP on the stat's screen and pulled by swogh.gg does not match the data on the character screen. Which GP is correct?
I am assuming the lower one.
And this issue, imo, needs to be fixed, ASAP, as their are tools setup to determine deployments and strategies for TB that rely on the data to be correct. Having two different sets, coupled with very poor TB management tools is not acceptable if you want to release very difficult strategic content that requires this information for planning.
Do or Do not.

If you think this is an issue you should report it to <<Answers HQ>>, that is how you would highlight this to get it fixed.
It takes the higher profile numbers to place you into divs for GA, but let you set your toons in TB with their real GP
Yes
Meh
No
Yes. The GP is no longer fluctuating

Mu issue is that I’ve never been as high of a GP level as the game says, so I don’t understand how this “solution” is valid
You did reach that high of a GP level due to the bug. Copy and paste below from what I just put on a Reddit post with a similar question.
Bug a week or two ago screwed up fleet GP. It went up a bunch for whatever reason. Stats screen shows the max you ever reached for total, character and fleet. Unless CG does some kind of fix, total GP and fleet GP on the stats screen will be screwed up until your actual fleet GP catches up with what it reached while the bug was occurring. For me personally, my actual ship GP is about 400k less than what the stats screen shows. Going to take quite a while to catch up.
Its ea good luck with reporting
My GP went nuts by putting a zeta on a no ship toon and my ship GP went through the roof.
I guess, it will correct itself when we catch up
