I took a little under a year off from the game and was wondering if someone could explain to me (or point me towards a post about) how GAC matchmaking works. I've been matched with people of very different GP's than my own (I'm about 3.4m, so in the middle of the division), and with way more relic characters than me. I've heard that matchmaking takes into account GP of your top toons and relic characters but it seems to be inconsistent about this. Thanks!

Be wary of gathering too much power (and GP) in too few squads. Try to build and maintain a mix of squad capabilities and strengths.
I would like to see matches to near equal GP,....current match, 3-21-2020, my GP is 4.6mil all others are .5million to almost 1 million higher GP than myself,....the highest GP in my current (3-22-2020) match is 5.4million GP to my 4.6million GP,....I can't win (unless they choose NOT to engage),..crappy matching,...just try matching closest GP for a couple of months and see the players reaction.
I disagree. Since the introduction of GAC with its matching by top-X GP and the removal of cross-division/league matches the matches are far more even than before.
My win rate is almost the same as before this change, but the matches are far more even.
Missed a year by about 25 days. That's too bad - it would have been an all-timer.
