Question about purple gear drop rates

Is there a general rule of thumb about purple gear drop rate efficiency? Many pieces are available in nodes that cost 8, 10, 16, and 20 energy. My instinct has been to find the least expensive node to maximize my sims.

Am I doing it wrong? Is drop rate confirmed better at higher energy nodes, so much so that it actually ends up being MORE energy efficient?

I think they are the same but the overall payout per energy is better at higher nodes.

Higher nodes often pay out multiple (different) gears at once, essentially allowing you to double farm.

For double the usual cost if not more then double i wouod certainly hope so lol
