4 Tier I = 1 Tier II
6 Tier II = 1 Tier III

Basic idea of how it could work.

I would be able to trade in my TII mats for over 70 TIII mats.

It was just a basic idea, obviously they can up the trade amount by more, say 20 for 1 or something greater. Just an idea for lower lvl players who can't get their characters abilities upgraded. Cap it off after lvl 50 or something.

This would only serve to make the whales even more unassailable, they have hundreds if not thousands of tier I and tier II mats they can't use from daily multiple refreshes in Cantina battles.

It's the only bottleneck in the game that spending money on doesn't fully alleviate. We need it to stay that way.

Games such as Star Wars Uprising do this kinda thing, not sure why it's such a horrible idea.

Pretty sure that explain why it's a horrible idea.

I just want to go back to being able to sell mats.
I've got 300-400 of some items, and collect more of the useless buggers every day.

    Maybe make it 20 lv 1 worth a lv 2, and 20 lv 2 worth a lv 3, 4 and 6 sound really low

So, it's a bad idea because the people who have spend thousands on the game have an advantage?.. We all have our A-teams skills maxed so why should it make a difference?

As a side note, we all have hundreds of T1/2 mats, not just the whales. 50:1 or even 65:2 irrational for each tier?

The ratio would be less than or equal to 15:1 :)

I have never played a game where the collection of items attained through the time playing cannot be sold or traded. Lol, Instead they encourage hoarding which is a terrible disorder.

In honesty it would be nice if we could do something with these items.

    Oh no, the whales!! Really?!

If you're going to fear the advantage that people who sink hundreds and thousands of dollars into the game have, why are you playing a game that has P2P options?!

Besides... That's what level caps are for. If you guys really used your heads, you'd realize that all this would do is allow the whales to cap faster and for the rest to catch up faster. Does it hurt everyone's feelings so bad that whales are going to be instantly capped when it's raised? Maybe if we were allowed to use the otherwise completely useless items and mats we have, it could turn months to weeks, or weeks to days.

People might be more inclined to try out different groups and strats because they don't have to make sure that their farmed mats / gear go to the one character that is going to be the absolute best person to use them before they start farming for another month (looking at you, purple hair dryer) to gear up the next guy.

Not sure about this, either the ratio is so high that exchanging them becomes nearly meaningless. For example if it was 20:1, 600 mats will turn into 30. You can get 30 tier 3 mats very quickly through cantina, GW, and challenges maybe within around a week, whereas getting 600 mats for any tier will have taken months. Or the exchange is lower and suddenly we have hundreds of tier 3 mats instantly.

Im neither for or against, it, either way it seems somewhat trivial. Sure I always need more tier 3 mats, but eh.

Yes, the exchange rate can even be terrible, it'd give me something to do with hundreds, and nearly a thousand in some cases, of mats.
