I don't know what is wrong with the matchmaking system, but I'm routinely going against rosters with 5 - 10 (one time it was 14) more relic toons than I have. At times, there's a GP difference upward of 1.3m. Add galactic legends (which i don't have the money for) to the mix, and CG decides most of my GAC rounds purely with the matchmaking.
GAC is supposed to be competitive and fun. How is the matchmaking still this horrible?
Build out the middle and bottom of your roster, inflate your GP and you'll be amazed how much easier it is. I'm close to 6m now--no Luke, no GAS, no Legends (about a month away from Rey, though!)--and finish Kyber each time. I made a mistake in this last series of battles and miht come up just a bit shy this time... But, eh, it happens.
The secret is to look at your 80th character, in terms of power. Any upgrade to any character beneath that power level is pure profit. Work on niche teams, the ones people ignore because they only counter one thing and don't add to "the meta." Take Jawas, for example. They're generally considered trash. But you can work on that team to g11 and consistently take out g12 or even low relic Geonosian teams and they won't impact your matchmaking at all. The "bad" First Order and "trash" Resistance characters frequently work against stronger teams. Working on pilots that aren't even in your teams is even better, since they'll improve your fleets and make you harder to take out.
If you're having trouble then the odds are very likely that your roster is too narrow. But, then again, because your roster is narrow you're excelling in almost every other aspect of the game. Maybe getting Aurodium in GAC is what you can do.
In game name: Lucas Gregory FORMER PLAYER - - - -"Whale blah grump poooop." - Ouchie
In game guild: TNR Uprising I beat the REAL T7 Yoda (not the nerfed one) and did so before mods were there to help

My matches have been consistent... Win some lose some. You can't win them all. Also goes by where you rank. Maybe not star up and max level your weak toons till they are 7* idk that's what I do. Haven't even activated the last 5 toons we got... No point yet.

There is something to be said for consistency.

Consistently losing.
Consistently complaining.
Sure, I guess.
Not exactly learning though.
Says he’s made Kyber in this one. So matchmaking can’t be that bad?
And how did you even find that??
Serial complainer, still peddling the “GLs cost money” myth, yet he has reached Kyber.
