Idea for a crit chance overflow

Any crit chance over 100% is converted in a 1:1 ratio into extra crit damage. Here's an example using Han Solo

Base (relic 7) crit chance- 91.67%
Unique- +20
Guard- +25
Crit chance up- +25
Total- 161.67
Vs a standard opponent Han would still have a guaranteed critical chance but now with an extra 61.67% critical damage, however if he fought someone with a 6E critical avoidance arrow (35%). Han still has the guaranteed crit but now only +25.67% extra crit damage. This allows crit chance mods to have a use for players with high relics as almost every physical attack come gear 13 is running a minimum of 60% crit chance before any mod or unique is considered

My Raid Han has +226% crit damage. If i mod him correctly, you’re saying you want him to have an nearly a +300% crit damage against someone’s room that has no crit avoidance? Yikes

Are you sure, you want this against opponents that have crit avoidance or whatever else reduces your chance of scoring a crit?

This would make Crit Damage sets useless as you could just stack Crit Chance to overcome it. Not gonna happen.

It only will happen if it's over 100% already. So if he fights a Sion with a crit avoidance arrow under Traya (75 total CA) Han's 100% crit + 61% CD turns into a flat 86% crit chance an no bonus CD

With 3 CC sets and a primary that's only 42% bonus CC where as CD with the same has 72%, meaning you'd need either 30% CC through secondaries or a powerful unique/lead that boosts CC but not CD. And high CC can be countered with crit avoidance mods, or having it naturally built into kits (such as crit chance down which is more common than CD down)

You're not looking at it at an high enough level. What i mean is that people will start to use only Offense sets with as much Crit Chance secondaries as possible plus a Crit Damage primary triangle.
It's not hard for most Attacker type toons to reach 100% Crit Chance with relics and you can simply use an additional Crit Chance set too. If your suggestion will ever be realized this is the only way to go then. It's destroying a part of the whole mod system and i don't like this thinking.

So, the crit damage will vary depending on the stats of the opponent? If you fight an enemy with low crit avoidance, you would have high CD and if you fight an enemy with high CA you would have low CD? That's a completely new concept.

It is interesting but besides Traya there're not many ways to work around it. My SLKR has a Crit Chance of 125% without even trying to raise it that high. Imagine to combine this with an Offense and a Crit Chance set with high Crit Chance secondaries plus a Crit Damage triangle. Not thinking about future updates when they raise relic levels even more..

Very nice idea. Does Critical Chance Down also work like the Critical Avoidance scenario?
