call an assist when only one toon left

If GS is alone in his team because all his mates are dead and then he attacks and call an assist, then does it calls himself or it does nothing ?

He would only attack once but the damage would still be more than the damage on his basic

Nothing. I've used Swarm before when one character was stunned and got no assist. I guess the stunned one was randomly picked to do it and couldn't.
