Well, that was a pleasant surprise to wake up to... for ~50% of people who replied to my poll yesterday. Thank you to all who took part and the devs, for making the change :)

You mean QGJ's insane lvl 8 leadership skill rebalancing, right? Giving everyone speed up no matter the faction would be game breaking.

Yes that. Sorry, 'speed nerf' is wrong - it should be leader ability nerf... I'll change it.

    it's not a "nerf": it's a typo correction :)
    I choose the Red Pill.

Quoi? I'm confused... I was referring to the fact that QGJ's lvl 8 maxed out leader ability will now no longer give speed up to all allies, but will instead give speed and potency up to all jedi.

    I think that's a nerf, no?

Since there was obviously no way it was going to go live anyhow, and since it was still an update away, it's hardly a surprise. And basically what some of us were trying to tell you yesterday would happen.

Yes, technically it's a nerf, but one that apparently only a few people didn't see coming. And since we still have to get through the level 80 cap, the devs were in no hurry to update something that wasn't going to be happening anytime soon anyhow.

True - it wasn't a huge surprise. But given how game balance has been handled so far, I wouldn't have been surprised if it was something they ended up retrospectively addressing. I'm just glad that's not the case.

The real immediate threat was GS now that is solved and now remaining Rey and Leia. Worrying about something that could've happened at level 90 update is pretty funny. And if i knew this from February, i wonder how many people knew this from before February. They just never spoke because it wasn't relevant.

If they make a new character with 100% Evasion chance, and make him impossible to get, is he op and in need of a nerf?
The significance of Critical-Utopian Socialism and Communism bears an inverse relation to historical development.

I was going to post something similar. If they remove an ability that a toon never actually had is it really a nerf?

I'd like to think it's just the devs messing with dataminers. They never intended on it going live.

What would have been cooler is if they were able to change the balance of the game so that giving speed up to all characters wasn't game breaking, but rather the best way to make a pure speed team viable. Of course that's much easier said than done.

Doesnt matter. Dooku's is still better.

Wasn't that ability available at lvl 82? So it really didn't matter when it happened because we are really far away from lvl 90 cap raise.

Can it really be a nerf when it was never implemented?

Wow. Nitpicky much? This thread should have died hours ago. Let it be.

Is it a nerf if his current abilities did not change?
I'm sorry, I dont* agree. It needed changing for obvious reasons same with gs.

Why do I have a nagging suspicion thatr such obviously game breaking blunders were deliberately left there by some very **** off coders? Judging by practical obervsations of how even the silliest of bugs slip through with no one noticing (e.g. Dooku's level 7 basic drops double attack chance from 50% to 5%), I would not be surprised that such actions were the result of **** off some slave codemonkeys in some 3rd world nation.

You wouldn't blame these poor folk for such actions if your are truly human and have 1st hand understanding of what they go though.

So in the distant future QGJ might actually make low potency toons as Plo Koon kinda viable in the first round? And give Old Ben's Mind tricks a good extra chance to connect on all enemies. That's nice.

Finally! Someone with actually something original to say!

I didn't know about Plo Koon's low potency, but I imagine a lot of people will be tempted to run QGJ+OB teams precisely for the reason you gave.

It's curious, all the toons whose leadership ability gives faction allies speed up now also provide an additional boost - with one exception: Grand Moff Tarkin. I'm guessing he's next in line for a buff.

Other Jedi who will potentially benefit from Potency up in the distant future:

    Qui-Gon Jinn:
    * Humbling blow will be harder to resist. Neat!
    * Quick Strike removes turn meter at lv8. According to devs turn meter removal should be resistable so perhaps this will be affected too. But turn meter removal works in mysterious ways.

Ima-Gun Di: Sunder, regular attack. 50% chance to reduce defense. Could be better after update. Worthless skill today imo.

Jedi Knight Guardian (anybody actually use her?) Regular attack does offense down. AOE attack has ability block.

Eeth Koth gets a better chance to stun with special and apply Defense down to droid on basic. Woohoo?

Luminara gets a more potent ability block. Already has coolest battle stance.

Plo Koon: In theory the best buff dispeller, dispels a random buff on regular attack. In practice this never happens because 20% potency. Could be more viable with QGJ. Also has AOE Offense down attack there's presently useless for the reason stated above.

Old Ben: Mind tricks can connect on more enemies, more reliably. Best debuff in game, without competition.

Mace: Special ability removes buff. Becomes harder to resist with QGJ lead.

Aayla Secura: Her bonus stun connects more easily.
