Level raise to 80 ruining what is most fun about the game

I enjoy collecting and developing the characters and trying new things. I have 19 7* toons, I don't want to have to just pick 5 to focus on. What fun is that? So I can do what? I'm still working on other characters I would like to have, but now it will just not be worth it. I have spent a good few hundred dollars on this game, mostly out of addiction because I enjoy the collecting and leveling up of new toons....so maybe this is a good thing.
I did enjoy the game though, not sure I am interested in this new boring grind.
