Simple solution to this pre-crafting issue

Prev1
Precedent has already been set, when the GW refresh change was reverted from crystals to GW tokens for a weekend.

Please do the same thing with these crafted items. Revert the change for the duration of this weekend, to give those people that did not pre-craft a chance to do so, and level the playing field.

Sorry to break the chain, but we are comparing apples and oranges here. The little GW token blemish didn't give any party an advantage, whereas this supposedly does.

Takes too long a weekend only gets them more crystals based on refreshes to catch up on missed gear.

Absolutely not. I have 3 characters I use on my arena team I can't progress. This game is horses poop.

Just like the GW refresh thing, revert it back for at least a week. A weekend isn't much time. But yes, please DO SOMETHING.

Couldn't they just lock out the use of said equipment until the update launches and then lift the gate? The most fair solution I can think of.

    That would be more reasonable.

I had stockpiled enough gear to make several of these items. I chose not to, because i decided i would play EAs game and farm the new items before crafting them. I was left with a lot of materials that i could not use for the purpose i farmed them for. Yes, in hindsight it was a stupid decision, thinking that i would be able to farm the new gear.

Too late. We've already used it. Way passed that now.

It gives an advantage as is right now, but if they allowed everyone a set period of time to craft with what they had / what they farmed, and THEN made it final, it would even the playing field a lot more than what currently exists right now.

I was stating it more so as a comparison issue, we can't necessarily apply the same solution from something minor to something major.
Another problem that may arise is the fact that people already have invested their energy in shards or gears in places other than to farm these gears in question.

True, but that should actually make this an even higher priority.

They did it with vader. They made all 6 and 7* function like 5*. I assume They could turn off the effects of the gear also.

I assume that is a lot more work than you think, people like QGJ could have been taken up a full gear tier, meaning that the team would have to negate all the gears that were crafted following the gear tier increase.

That's why you give ample time to attempt to craft more.

Most of the pieces take greens and greys to craft. Furnaces take the 0/50 hair dryers, but we have a challenge now for that and if they can't craft one or two of those now, they probably couldn't craft them before the patch anyway, so not much has changed.

But they won't, because that's punishing us for doing nothing wrong.

We played by the rules, we didn't cheat at all. You have to remember, when you start punishing people on a mobile game for no reason, they get easy refunds. Can't have that! Need that $$$!

They are clearly trying to limit gear progression, which is why i asked for only this weekend. It gives you this week to get ready, and this weekend to craft. i doubt they would ungate us for a whole week, but this weekend, with a little bit of ramp up time, seems reasonable.

I wholeheartedly agree something needs to be done about this.

The change gave us almost no notice, those lucky enough to craft will have an advantage over others.

The 'unfairness' of differing Greedos and now different gear caps for a plethora of heroes is bad for the game and creates unrest amoung players.

It's only right that this is A - reverted for one week and B - properly announced.

The last time this was changed John didn't announce it properly so I had to do so for him until he did it.

Although we may not agree with the changes that are made it is important that we are respectful towards the developers when we talk about them. They are people, doing their jobs.

Unfortunately that job is to make money for EA. Let's not make their lives any harder by insulting them in the future.

The point of these new gears being released (most likely) was intended to give the players a challenge to reach gears above 9 and 10. Allowing everyone to get these gears as was not intended would be completely counterproductive for the development team. I understand that some players are given an advantage, but at this point it is too late to act on anything.

Allowing some players to have them already and some players to not have them is not in the best interest of the game. Allowing players to take advantage of a system some players have already taken advantage of, is simply fair.

Frankly, the system is really dumb anyway and they could just as easily move stuff around for the future. Why not just move these progression blocking raid gears to the level 80 pieces? Why brick wall us in the 70s? The whole design is really backwards.

Right, moving these 50 purple gears from the level 70's to the level 90 cap increase would probably be most beneficial to all parties.
Let's leave it at that, we could debate about this issue all night.

Changing the formula is one thing. But changing the formula and making it impossible to craft is just wrong. There is no defending or justifying that.

So I stopped farming hair dryers a few weeks ago since we were fairly sure they'd be available in the future challenges. Instead I farmed eyeballs, stun guns and cuffs - roughly 250 total - which I thought made some logical sense. When the news broke Friday night about the precrafting, I was able to get some of the other pieces (the RG/Daka/QGJ ones) but didn't have any purple dryers to spare. Count me in the with the rest of the annoyed I guess!

Anyway, I'd love a two day "rewind" period but I understand the reasons why that may not be amenable.

In the grand scheme of things this isn't a huge deal, definitely not worth throwing insults at other living breathing humans over.
