Sector 4 final boss (vader & palp)

When starting the battle I notice the enemy team both have "undermine control" which prevents defeat or debuffs . How am I suppose to pass the level? Please help because there must be a was. BTW: easy difficulty

Read the modifiers, your leader will gain a new ability that is locked. Your allies need to take 25 turns before it is available.

I had the same issue when I first played, we probably did the same mistake, leaving it on Auto...
leave it on auto for a couple of rounds, and after that stop the auto and check your leader toon, there will be a special skill that will conclude the battle.
