Accelerating Ships

Is it likely for ships to ever be accelerated? I know it was a while for gear but surely ships should be accelerated by now? Would be nice to get a response from CG but if any members have any info to add then please contribute ))

The theory I've heard is that because having a 7 star character doesn't matter anymore, a character's utility starts sometimes at g12, but usually a relic levels, they can be accelerated. But we have so few ships and once a ship is fully upgraded, the only thing that changes it is the character, we'll likely never see accelerated drop ships....unless they decide to make another form of ship upgrades.

Ships don’t need gear. Characters do. Having the drop quantity at 50% is a psuedo-gearing mechanic, and I don’t really have any issues with it.
