Opening a character you already have

If you get a full character from a pack, but already have that character unlocked, how many shards do you get?

Roughly half the shards that it takes to unlock the character. For instance I drew ig 86 (who I have maxed) this morning and got 7 shards.

You get 7 shards for a 1* char, 15 for a 2* char I have noticed. Have yet to get a 3* or higher that I already had.
