I had no prtoection left...therefore i managed to get 4 attacks off and managed to kill tie pilot.

Every toon left has full health and most of their protection.


I ran a team that allowed me to win the last 18 galactic wars before update that has destroyed this game. 7 star max level and gear available to me.

I know my team and my bench. I finish GW with ease. Just because your team isn't up to snuff doesn't mean it's broken

That sounds like an unlucky draw tbh. Use a suicide squad to take their special abilities?
Personally I've not noticed much difference. I play it the same way as before and have finished it every day. Mainly with Dooku (l), Rey, GS, 86, consular(early on)/lumi(when consular dies). Just gotta think a bit more.
