Leader left guild?

So in my guild, the leader is still listed as in the guild, but when you click on his name, it gives a different guild name on his account. What gives? If he left the guild, shouldn't the leader spot of dropped to one of the officers? Otherwise we will be stuck without a leader.

Same thing has happened in my guild. He's still in the table but has zero contribution.
