How does a door button dodge attacks

I know this game isn't based on the laws of real life, but I'm just curious what the Star Wars universe explanation is. Is this button more than just a button below the surface? Is this a force sensitive door button? And also, if the door button is able to dodge attacks, we should at least be able to apply detrimental effects to it like speed down or ability block. It's only fair.

It wasn't so much a "dodge" as it was your toon slipping on Rancor drool and missing their mark by an inch.
