I think the rewards dropped after winning a battle can be very unfair at times. No gears nor character shards are given no matter how fantastic the results. I think it is much more fair to get our rewards based on the performance of the battle.
But when using SIM, rewards dropped should remain random.

Well the advantage of having the rewards dropped based on performance in battle is that players can be assured that when they spend crystals on energy, rewards are guaranteed. Secondly, it will also encourage players to actually do battles instead of using SIM and spending crystals on them that may or may not even be worth it.
