Character shards missing on activation

When activating my Biggs Darklighter I would click on activate and nothing would happen. I did this a couple of times until realising it was taking the shards and not activating. I then restated the app and it would let me activate him. However I never got the 100+ shards back that I lost through the false activations.

I've been in contact with the support team via emails an chat and they haven't been very helpful. I'd really like my shards back as it took me a long time to save them up.
