At first I was like aw man this is amazing. Amazing graphics amazing everything.
After a few months I felt the same. Never have I been so addicted to a game.
Then came the changes. Things were harder to get. I started "gambling" to get prizes (gear, shards). Trying over and over to get those prizes as it became harder. My addiction has remained so I kept trying.
Does this not sound like the adventure of a Casino addict? I mean is that what this has become, a Casino game? All about luck and no skill? Star Wars is amazing, EA is amazing and always has been. But this new concept of gaming just really isn't about gaming anymore. And it makes me sad, a sad sad Panda.

Enjoy the game to your best capabilities and means. Let those strive for the best if they desire and put in the money to do so. But it's really not necessary.
My initial focus was ensure I finished GW every day so I levelled Bariss for that specific purpose as well as to round out my 5x 7* Jedi team (I complete the unnerfed level 80 yoda event). I started the initially slow Rey grind months ago and now have her at 7* g10 and yes she is amazing. Never ever wasted crystals on anything other than the 50/50/100 energy refreshes and as a result have bought 6 furnaces form shipments whilst still maintaining a healthy balance. Was a little behind the curve on RG but he is now 7* at g8 and a mere 3 droid caller salvage from becoming g10 (I have a scanner earned through raiding waiting for him to catch up).
Many of the problems FTP suffer are entirely down the lack of focus (levelling toons they like from films vs. toons that are actually effective) or the head in the sand approach to levelling the latest META toons (Waah.... don't want to level X , but I also want to win with my poorly thought out Arena team) and the profiligate spending of credits.
Your statement makes no sense. What game is being played that relies on luck? Opening packs? That's not gameplay. That's spending money and receiving nothing in return. Your bleak, Randian view of video gaming troubles me.
What is at play is content that demands money to even use, and not a small amount of money. And that content is fairly light considering most other video games.
For whatever reason mobile gaming is unfortunately out to quickly bleed the consumer, and offer as little as possible back. But it's not every game. Look at XCom. Great game, solid port, tons of gameplay. That's from a major developer. It's not that this game couldn't be better, especially for the cost. You simply choose not to. Enjoy the internship, I suppose. Madden 16 was pretty good.
I mean I pay don't get me wrong. I'm just saying if we keep allowing this style of gameplay to continue these companies will keep doing what they do. I mean of course I believe in paying to support the developers but to what extent do we allow them to take advantage of us is the question
In reality you do man. I'm ashamed to admit how much I have invested into this game.
So only certain characters are viable in this COLLECTION game. Good to know. Meta toons get messed up all the time by nerfs. You actually enjoy being told who you can farm, only to then fight those very teams ad nauseum who are AI deficient giving you an advantage over what is likely a rough mirror image of your squad. Also you've been playing since Dec. I'd say Dec. to Feb. (And I am newer) was a prep period that alot didn't have. Some of us, not me at the moment, have lives and work. The fact that I started late, and can't put in everyday to a mobile game shouldn't make it unplayable. And yet.
Exactly mate
You must not have read it correctly. No surprise.
I did read it correctly. If you'd read my original post you'd see there is no need to gamble. It is possible to 'win' at this game without spending a penny with a bit of foresight and of course patience / willpower.
I never said there was anything wrong with spending nor did I say I wasn't having fun. The entirety of the concept of what I was trying to say went far, far over your head.
