Should the arena rewards give Gear similar to Raids

With the current setup there has become a higher disparity in the arena between those who have easy access to gears 9 and above and those of us saving every single guild point just to purchase 5 of an item we need 50 of out the guild store.
Guilds are a new and cool idea, but raid exclusive gear is not so cool. Most of us long time players spent months working on a arena team (I'm free to play and use to be rank 1-5 everyday), only to have raids open and find out great teams don't do enough damage to get those coveted raid rankings needed to unlock the important gear leaving us stuck in the same rut while others flew past us.
My suggestion is use the same gear box system you have for raids and apply it to arena ranks.
For EA it means more money because people will spend to try to climb the ranks. For players it means more access to gear. Thoughts?
