Gear Chances : Sim vs Battle

Do the odds of receiving gear increase if you battle instead of sim?
I have received czerka cuffs four out of five battles on LS 8-G using fight.

It may be related but I was two stars on it (just made it to 3* allowing me to simulate it). I just did a sim five times and only received one.

Is this legit?

*i tested one more time as a battle and I didn't receive he gear.

During the droid event I played nothing but battles to increase my ally points for the event. I "felt" like I got worse not better pull rates overall. Nothing statistical about it though so only conjecture....

I think it's RNG still. Sometimes I'll get 8 out of 10 (Well more like rarely) and others I'll do 2 refreshes for 3.

I usually just Auto battles that aren't DS/LS 8 though until my Sim tickets catch up. Unless I'm not feeling patient and fork over 30 crystals for the tickets.

No I don't think so.. Simming and battling give the same results. I do think going to the actual battle and clicking sim yields better results than going to "find gear" on the little character option
