Tricks to gaining the elusive ability material MKIII

Anyone have a particular battle on squad cantina or trick that yields a better chance of scoring this elusive material???

Luck and lots and lots and lots of energy trying over and over again. I've had times where I'll get 3-4 in a row...and others that I'll go 0/10 missions.

I keep wishing that if you 3*d a mission you'd have a better chance at rare materials. Would make the stars matter after the first time through and give you a reason not to just sim or auto everything!
