Anyone have an idea or heard what may become of shards granted after 7 star?

I'm just wondering if the Devs are planning on allowing some sort of usage for all the shards I've accumulated after my toons have become 7 star.

For instance, my JC has 70 shards, my Sid has almost 40, Kylo has almost 20, and my Phasma is right around 10....

I'm hoping that there will be a trading situation or perhaps even further upgrades.

Any thoughts?

Will probably have to sacrifice 2 or 3 shards from a maxed char for 1 random shard which could be for a maxed char.

The Dev has something upcoming for it in the new update. Details are not known.
