2* versions of 4* characters?

Just curious how people end up with 2* versions of Daka, Ren, and a couple other characters who, I thought, started out at 4*. When I unlocked Daka and Ren they both started at 4* which I thought was the lowest they could go. However I have seen 2* versions when I'm in the "borrow a hero" screen.

I think the packs will give you a range of star characters. I know bronze packs will give 1 and 2* characters.

No, every character has his own star amount, for example: Dooku starts at 3*, Windu at 4*, royal guard at 1*, I could go on but you get what I mean. a 1* star toon requires 10 shards to unlock, a 2* requires 25, a 3* 50 and a 4* 80.

Those characters like a 2* Daka or 2* Ren are just AI players, auto generated because there is no suitable "real" ally available for you at that specific moment.

I know it hurts the eyes to see a 2* Vader...
