What are blueprints?

They only look like blueprints, actually they are gear to fill into empty gear sockets.

Some gear items have to be crafted. The blueprints are crafting ingredients for those items.

The prototypes are crafted gear (from prototype salvage) that cannot be directly equipped but it is used to craft other gear
