Exceed Attempts at Joining New Guild--How Long Will I Be Locked Out?

I'm not allowed to join my new guild. Apparently I exceed the number of attempts I could join guilds late yesterday. The head of my old guild had not logged in to start new raids in 20 days. So as members we decided to start a new one. I logged in and out a few times, not knowing how to join the new guild. Now I'm locked out from joining any guild. I was wondering how long the lock out period last? The request to join the new guild lasts for about a day or so. There is a countdown clock. I don't want it timing out on me. I hope this lockout period is indeed temporary because there is no countdown clock given as to when the ban on joining will be lifted. Any advice or information would be appreciated.
