6 and 7* mods status update...

I attempt to read the official releases, so if I somehow missed this info, my apologies. I have been modding, but I am reluctant to go crazy on 5* mods if 6 and 7 mods are just around the corner to make them obsolete. Does anyone have any news on the 5 W's of newer mods? Thanks.
