Empire Assault ran June 2 then Sept 2, forest moon was July 4 then Sept 15. So expect them roughly 2-3 months from the last time they ran.

By that standard, any thoughts on what the next event would be, in theory?

Don't recall seeing them mention what would be next, but with how long it takes to gear/shard/level up characters in preparation, now that this one is ending I'm hoping we hear (or have heard) at least vaguely what/when will be next.
