Because if they keep the timer in place and you complete your dailies every day, you will log in at least 5 times a day. And while you're logged in doing that, who knows how long you'll get pre-occupied doing something else and then decide to spend a little money while you're at it. Being able to sim all 5 at once wouldn't make enough $$$$ sense (or cents if you're a fan of puns).
