Nope, this is not what happened. I think you observed 3 attacks in a row. What most likely happened was QGJ call assist --> lumi assisted (1. attack) --> phasma called lumi for another assist on QGJ's attack (2. attack) --> lumi got turn: 3. attack in a row.
There are so many false bug reports on misunderstood assist mechanics or just because people didn't recognized that some toons got 100% TM in between and went for another turn and so on.
