There is also such a thing as too much RNG!
Here are a few suggestions to fix it.
1. Remove the cooldown on challenges.
2. Make a challege for non-stat gear like stun cuffs and holo projectors.
3. Make drop rate on hard mode missions 100%.
4. Allow us to copy mods, we'll still have to spend ungodly amounts of energy farming a good one for another set.
5. Move more characters to the shops, I would like to finish Gen. Veers and Lobot sometime this decade!

Plus this post isnt about RNG, its about it being too grindy. Read the thread subject.
Here are some ideas:
-Remove challenges. There is little challenge/ decision making to them and they are just a nuisance. Increase drop rates in LS/DS battles and increase daily rewards to compensate.
-Get rid of Bronziums. They are worth so little that its just a nuisance to open them to get rid of the red dot. Ally points can be used for tournaments and maybe traded 100 for 1 crystal or maybe other offers (like a Galactic Gear Pack for 30,000 or whatever).
-Get rid of the daily Galactic War. Make it 25 battles per week. Add some other mode that can be played daily and that has small rewards just for people who want to spend time playing the game.
-Make arena based on your top position over the whole day. Lower the crystal rewards as compromise.
-Add mod management tools, such as the ability to transfer a complete set of mods from one character to another. This is probably not what the developers intentended, but right now it is necessary to play the game anywhere near optimally.
-Make bonus energy available for longer periods, like 4am-1pm, 1pm-7pm, and 7pm to 4am. Make characters in the different shops 800 for 10 shards, changing every 12 hrs instead of 6.
