How do crews affect ships?

I'm looking at crews and I was curious if anyone has any data on how their power/gear/mods affect ships, their stats and damage.

Anyone have this information yet?

Trying to figure that out, but I don't see any logic just yet. For example my JC item level is way lower then Wedge. But both ships get buffed about the same. Don't forget to add mods on you toons. Hope someone will do some more extended testing or a official note with explenation
Btw, swgoh.gg is probably working on getting all data on their site, so maybe that will help

JC crew power is higher than most because his ship is one of the few that uses special damage. So he boosts the special damage of his ship. Most other don't use special damage so don't get this boost so the crew power rating is lower.

mods stats don't matter just the dot and level. Biggest boost from mk5 level 15 mods.
