Universal seat or ship

Will we see a ship that can be piloted by any pilot?

This ship could have an open seat that would allow you to put any non pilot toon in and have them give that ship a bonus or have their own ship skill like the pilots do now.

If not I think some of the toons will really fall behind without any useful place or only one useful place when so many toons cross over into different aspects of the game.

Might be the case one day, as you can see that the abilities are sometime linked to the ship, and sometime to the pilot. I doubt the dev would have taken the time to make such a distinction if there was absolutely no plan to one day allow some ship to change pilots.

That could add a great layer of depth, strategy-wise.
